1971 VOLKSWAGEN T2 Camper

Ex-California; UK registered; recently re-trimmed with Rock n Roll bed; new weber carb conversion; EMPI  exhaust

Known to our vendor as Ericha, EKH 591J is a 1971 Volkswagen Type 2 Bay Window Camper resplendent in a very fetching metallic Lamborghini Arancio California orange (yes, really) and Diamond White.

An American import, the van has been here since 2014 so has got used to driving on the correct side of the road (it’s LHD). Our vendor bought it from a friend (and they still speak) and put a lot of effort into making it roadworthy and reliable, including sorting out the brakes, rectifying various minor niggles and fitting a Weber carburettor. He also had the interior re-trimmed using OEM ‘tartan’ fabric sourced in the States and very smart it all looks, too. In addition, although not currently connected, Ericha has an electrically heated front screen. The van had its last MOT in 2017, when it passed with only a few minor offences taken into consideration. The van is, of course, MOT-exempt and the few minor jobs it is thought to need could all be sorted before the forthcoming long, hot summer comes upon us.
