Top spec ST-3 in 'Performance Blue Metallic'; Miltek exhaust system; 6
service stamps with cambelt and waterpump replaced; iconic 5-cylinder noughties
hot hatch
Introduced in 2005, the second-generation
Ford Focus ST brought a new level of performance to the Focus range, powered by
a turbocharged 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine producing 225bhp. Based on the
successful Focus platform, the ST combined strong performance with the
practicality and usability of a family hatchback.
The ST-3 represented the range-topping specification, adding a higher
level of equipment and comfort to the performance-focused package whilst
retaining the distinctive styling and characterful five-cylinder engine that
have made these cars increasingly sought after.
First registered in 2007 and finished in appropriately named
‘Performance Blue’ metallic, this top-of-the-range ST has had just five former
keepers and is displaying 121,899 miles.
The car
is accompanied by six service stamps and several invoices, including evidence of
the cambelt, water pump and auxiliary belt being replaced in 2018 for £335 by
Performance Specialist Cars. Further paperwork records the replacement of rear
brake discs, pads and callipers, suspension arms and engine
filters.
Driven to the sale from Hampshire, the
Focus has an MOT valid until 29th October 2026 and has been driven on site for
photography and video. Potential bidders are to note that one of the wheel
bearings is making considerable noise, as heard on the accompanying video, and
will likely require replacement. Replacement parts are readily
available.
In summary, a top-specification
five-cylinder hot hatch from the early noughties, with good history, evidence of
recent work and a tempting estimate.
