An intriguing restoration
project with an exceptionally long period of ownership, having been with the
current owner since April 1979 – over 47 years. Showing six former keepers, this
Elan +2S 130/5 was first registered in December 1973 and is powered by the
1,558cc Lotus Twin Cam engine.
Originally Brown, the car now
appears to be Blue. Unfortunately, there is no paperwork accompanying the
car.
The late vendor's partner
informs us that the Lotus was used regularly as a daily driver during its early
years before being taken off the road and stripped for repainting. The work was
never completed and the car subsequently remained stored in a car trailer for
many years before being recovered and brought to
auction.
Offered as a full restoration
project, this represents an exciting opportunity to bring a long-term ownership
Lotus back to the road.
